Why do we name our seeds?
Does it matter?
When we place a name on every seed we sow, we’re doing what every wise farmer does — sowing with intention. A farmer never tosses random seeds into the soil, hoping something good will grow. He knows exactly what he’s planting, and because of that, he knows exactly what to expect. The name we attach to our seed is a declaration of faith and focus. It tells God — and reminds us — what harvest we’re believing for. If we sow peace, we expect peace. If we sow for healing, we expect healing. If we sow for a breakthrough, we expect a breakthrough. Just as no farmer plants corn expecting apples, we can’t sow without purpose and expect specific results. Naming the seed is how we align our expectation with our intention. It’s how we make sure that when the harvest comes, it matches what we planted.
